ATLANTA PLUMBING LEAK REPAIR | SLAB LEAKS
Homes built on concrete slabs are subject to a different set of possible plumbing problems than other homes. With ALL of the plumbing concealed behind walls and underneath the slab, leaks are sometimes difficult to locate when they occur. In fact, you may never even know a leak is present until your water bill arrives and it's significantly higher than normal. At this point, you need to call us to have our leak detection services performed. This is a separate service in relation to a slab repair, but must be done in order to pinpoint exactly where the leak is below the slab. Once the leak is located, the repair can begin.
All types of piping were installed underneath slab homes. Everything from gray polybutylene to copper runs under many slabs, and leaks are (unfortunately) common. Once we locate the leak, we remove the section of concrete above the leak either by jack hammering or cutting. Once we remove the concrete, we must then remove the wire and plastic sub-layers below the concrete, then dig down to expose the water piping and the leak. We will repair the leak, test it, then reverse the entire process. Once the waterlines are covered, we will re-pour your concrete and smooth it out. Flooring repairs and replacements are the customers responsibility.
Many home insurance companies will cover the majority of the cost of a slab repair, often up to 80%. So call them before you call us to we can do our best to work in conjunction with them.
